Developed by the staff at Gwent N-gage, the Toolkit is based on our belief that all young people should have access to fundamental knowledge and information about substances which helps to empower them to make informed choices throughout their lives. To achieve this, we will distribute the Toolkit to all secondary schools, colleges, and Alternative Education Providers across Gwent, ensuring equal access to essential information and services.
The Toolkit is a comprehensive resource that includes:
- Information about GDAFS and Gwent N-gage services: Details about the support we offer, referral pathways with downloadable referral forms and service leaflets.
- Bitesize learning modules for teaching staff: Quick, focused sessions to enhance their understanding of substances and related issues.
- Workshops and lesson plans for students: Ready-to-deliver materials designed to educate and engage young people.
- Additional resources: Drug information leaflets, harm reduction advice, and practical tools to help teaching staff feel confident when discussing substance use with students.
This Toolkit is a vital resource for teaching staff, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to address substance use effectively and support young people in making healthier decisions.
